Jackline's Story
Recently, a 16-year-old girl at the Mananasi Children’s Center in Ogembo, Kenya, gave birth to a baby boy named Peter. The girl’s name is Jackline.
Jackline is an orphan who lost both of her parents. Her father passed away when she was a baby, and her mother died in 2021 due to complications from COVID-19. She was placed under the care of her 28-year-old stepbrother, who shares the same mother but has a different father. He is married.
Her brother kidnapped her, imprisoned her, and defiled her for several days, resulting in her becoming pregnant. She was rescued by her former teacher and placed in the care of the Mananasi Children's Center. The child she bore was considered incest (brother and sister), and she was placed in a situation where she gave birth to a baby, and the family felt cursed.
As a result, Jackline has been abandoned, and no relatives are willing to take her in. Her brother is currently in police custody, and the case is actively being handled by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). There is sufficient evidence to convict him of the crime of defilement, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
Pastor David has informed us that there is an urgent need for clothes and other essentials for the newborn baby. In response, we have provided $230 to support these needs. Jackline and her baby are currently residing at the Mananasi Children’s Center, where the baby boy is now about 100 days old.
Please pray that Jackline’s heart will be filled with the peace that only God can provide, that she will find the strength to forgive through the love of Jesus, and that she will have the resilience to move forward, relying on His grace. Also, kindly pray that she will be able to return to school next year and continue her education, experiencing a life similar to that of other children her age.
